DHRUVA

Dhruva is a Destination Alarm, Smart Alarm/reminder, and Family assistance app. It is not a live-tracking product and not an emergency or medical service.

Account

If you sign in with email or Google we store your email, authentication identifiers, and optional display name or avatar URL.

Family Space

We store Family names, membership, invitations (email plus an opaque token), and permission grants such as preparing Destination Alarms for you. Joining a Family does not share your live location, location history, or voice recordings.

Destination coordinates vs current location

When a Destination Alarm is created (including a Family-prepared alarm you allowed), we may store the chosen destination name, address, and coordinates plus alert radius and delivery state. That is not your traveller live location.

Your current location is processed on the device to watch an active destination geofence, including in the background after you activate an alarm. ARRIVE + ASSIST does not upload a live location stream to Family members.

Background location

Requested only when you activate a Destination Alarm. Not requested during installation, onboarding, login, Home, Family create, or Family join.

Saved Places and history

Saved Places and recent destinations are stored on this device so you can repeat a Destination Alarm. Cloud Family records store chosen destinations for Family-prepared alarms, not a movement trail.

Smart Alarms and reminders

Time alarms and reminders you confirm are stored on this device (SQLite) and scheduled with Android. They continue without the assistant. Dhruva is not a medical advisor and does not infer dosage.

Tell Dhruva and AI

When you type a request, that text is sent to Dhruva’s server and may be processed by Groq to understand intent (destination, time, reminder, help). Groq is not given authority over GPS, geofences, Family consent, or account deletion.

Voice

Microphone access is requested only after you tap the microphone in Tell Dhruva. Dhruva does not listen in the background and does not record continuously. A short clip (about 30 seconds, size-limited) is uploaded to the Dhruva API for speech-to-text with Groq, then discarded on the server after transcription. Family members cannot access your audio. We do not keep a permanent copy in Supabase Storage for voice dictation.

We do not over-claim Groq’s own log retention; see Groq’s current terms. Dhruva deletes the temporary server file immediately after transcription.

Feedback and support

When you send feedback or contact support from the app, we store your message, category, optional email, app version, and account link (if signed in) so our team can respond and improve Dhruva. This data is reviewed on secure staff systems and is not used for advertising.

Push, Maps, hosting

Firebase Cloud Messaging stores a device token bound to your signed-in account (for Family/remote Destination Alarms). Google Maps/Places provide search and map tiles. Supabase hosts authentication and Family/remote-alarm records. The Dhruva API is hosted on Vercel.

Children

Dhruva is intended for adult travellers. It is not directed at children.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your cloud account in the app (Settings → Account) or via the verified web deletion flow. That removes cloud identity, dissolves families you own, revokes pending invites, and deletes remote-alarm cloud records and FCM/device association. Destination alarms you created locally remain on the phone as guest alarms until you delete them.
